BAY COUNTY, Fla. - Bay County Commissioners approved an ordinance permitting residents to put sheds on their property even if there isn't a primary structure.
Prior to this vote, residents could only have non-habitable structures on their property if there was a primary structure, like a house or business.
The new ordinance will allow sheds, but the size of the structure is determined by the size of the property it is going on.
Bay County Commissioner, Bill Dozier, explained that there are also several restrictions that residents should be aware of.
"There are some variables with it, there's a lot of particulars with it, so anybody interested in doing that, they need to make sure they follow all the rules and look up what all the particular rules are on that," he said.[/color]
